Rain-shine is honoured to have been featured in the press on numerous occasions:
In particular one of our main business highlights has to have been being chosen as one of Theo Paphitis Small Business Sunday Winners in December 2013. To be chosen out of hundreds of others to have our business/website reviewed and retweeted by Theo was a real privilege. This was the image we used to capture his attention:
Here we are meeting Theo at an event down in Birmingham and receiving our award, Laura on the left and Megan on the right:
Radio – February 2016
Laura was invited on to BBC Radio Scotlands Kay Adams Programme (18.02.16) to discuss the highs and lows of being a mum running her own business. Listen in at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06zv15j#play (2 hours and 11 minutes in to the recording)
This in turn lead to media interest in our story and we subsequently featured in the Evening Times.
We have also featured in the Sunday Herald within the Family Focus Magazine, Scotland’s newest and largest magazine dedicated to serving Parents, Families, Grandparents, Teachers, Carers and those who have an active invested interest in the wellbeing of our future generation.
We went on to produce a Rain-shine monthly blog spot in a local newspaper. In this we wrote about outdoor play ideas and ways to get your children more engaged with the great outdoors:
In February 2014 we were delighted to discover that we had been shortlisted as a Finalist for a ‘Small Business of the Year’ Award for Networking Mummies UK Ltd.
Although we didn’t go on to win this award, it was a real honour as working parents/a small family business to have made the final.
We are also proud to be members of the Forest School Association,
and an official supporter of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014, with the aim of encouraging more kids to get active from an early age, regardless of the weather:
We are proud to be members of Play Scotland and have been delighted to have had our thoughts on the Play Strategy published on their blog.
As parents and strong advocates of the importance of outdoor play, we also strongly endorse Project Wild Thing and all it is trying to achieve to safe guard our childrens future relationship with nature.
We are delighted to announce that we have been nominated for a Mumpreneur UK Award. To even be nominated is a real honour. We will be sure to keep you updated.
We are delighted to announce that Laura Mackintosh was chosen as one of Mumpreneur 100 in the UK for 2015.
